Terms of service
Last updated: November 7, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Wyerd Holdings, the owner-operated business in Snohomish County, Washington, that runs Lone Table (“we”, “us”). By making an account or playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Lone Table.
1. What Lone Table is
- Lone Table is a solo fantasy role-playing game played in a web browser. It's built on the System Reference Document 5.2.1 (SRD 5.2.1), used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. It isn't made or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast.
- The rules (dice, combat, spells, hit points, items, where you are) are handled by the game's own code. An AI writes the story text: descriptions, people's dialogue and narration.
- Lone Table is in beta. The game and its design are still being built. Features, balance, prices and limits may change, and things will sometimes break. This is a paid beta. All payments go toward the continued development of this game.
- Lone Table is a game, for entertainment only. Nothing in it is advice of any kind (medical, legal, financial or otherwise).
2. AI-written story text
- All story content is written by AI and may not be accurate. It can be wrong, inconsistent, or not what you expected. It can contradict the rules; when it does, the game's rules win.
- We try to keep the AI's writing appropriate, but we can't review it before you see it. If a line is offensive, sexual, hateful, dangerous or wrong, press the ⚑ next to it to report it.
3. Who can play
- Lone Table is offered in the United States only for now.
- You must be 13 or older to have an account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should read these terms with you.
- Before you sign in, we ask your birth month and year. You must answer truthfully. We don't keep your answer, only that you said you were 13 or older, and when.
- If someone gives a false age to get an account, or pays with a card they weren't allowed to use, that's on the person who did it, not on us. If the card's owner or a parent tells us about a charge like that, we'll refund it (see the refund policy), and we may close the account.
- A parent or guardian may let a younger child play on the parent's own account. The parent is responsible for that play and for what the child sees.
- One person per account. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
4. Messages, plans and packs
- A “message” is one line you type that the AI answers. Buttons and most combat actions don't use messages.
- The free plan, paid plans (Heroic and Epic) and message packs, with their current message amounts and prices, are listed in the game under Plans & prices. Monthly amounts refill every 30 days. Unused monthly messages don't carry over. Pack messages don't expire while Lone Table is running.
- Epic's monthly amount is a fair-use limit with a fixed number, shown in the game.
- Paid plans renew every month and charge your card until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the menu under Plans & billing and keep your plan to the end of the month you paid for.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Refunds follow our refund policy.
- Messages and packs have no cash value, can't be sold or transferred, and only work in Lone Table.
5. What you can't do
- Try to get the AI to write sexual content involving anyone under 18, or content that is illegal where you live.
- Use Lone Table to harass, threaten or target a real person.
- Make extra accounts to get more free messages, or share or sell accounts.
- Use bots, scripts or automated tools to play, copy the game, or pull large amounts of AI text out of it.
- Attack, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the game's limits, payments or security.
- Knowingly use a bug to get messages, plans or packs you didn't pay for. If you find one, please report it.
6. Bans
- If you break these terms, we may warn you, limit your account, or ban it. A ban signs you out everywhere and blocks play.
- No refunds for a ban, for plans or packs. If you think a ban was a mistake, email support.
7. Your characters and stories
- What you type and the stories from your games are yours to keep, share and use.
- We store them only to run the game: saves, the story log, reports you choose to send. We don't sell them. You can download your data or delete your account at any time from the menu, or from the delete account page.
- The game itself (its code, art, text and design) belongs to us or our licensors, apart from the SRD 5.2.1 material, which stays under its Creative Commons license.
- How we handle your information is in the privacy policy.
8. If Lone Table shuts down
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email and in the game.
- Paid plans stop renewing when notice is given.
- Unused pack messages will be refunded at the price you paid per message.
- You'll be able to download your data until the end.
9. No guarantees
Lone Table is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, free of bugs, or that saves will never be lost, and we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. We keep the last 5 saves of each character to help recover from problems.
10. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss from using Lone Table in ways it isn't meant for. Our total liability for any claim about Lone Table is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is more. Some states don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a change that matters (like prices or what a plan includes), we'll tell you by email or in the game at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep playing after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can cancel and delete your account.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Please email support first; most problems can be fixed that way. Any court case goes to the state or federal courts for Snohomish County, Washington, except that either of us may use small claims court.
13. Contact
Use Contact support, or email support@lonetable.wyerd.org. Lone Table is run by one person: expect a reply within 3 business days.
