Privacy policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
Lone Table is run by Wyerd Holdings, an owner-operated business in Snohomish County, Washington (“we”, “us”). This page says what we keep about you, why, who else handles it, and how long it stays. The short version: we keep what the game needs to run, and nothing to sell.
1. What we don't do
- No ads, and no selling or renting your information to anyone.
- No tracking or analytics cookies, and no tracking across other sites.
- We don't store your IP address. We use it for a moment to stop abuse (too many sign-ins or requests from one place), and the only thing we keep is a scrambled version that can't be turned back into the address, deleted after 2 days.
2. What we keep, and why
- Your account: your email address, or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google, plus the date you signed up and last signed in. Used to sign you in and to send sign-in codes.
- Your age answer: before sign-in we ask your birth month and year. We don't store them. We keep only the date you answered with an age of 13 or older, on your account, as the record that you did.
- Your heroes: your saved games (the last 5 saves of each hero), so you can play on any device and go back after a bad turn. Your browser also keeps a copy of the hero you're playing.
- Usage numbers: how many messages you've used each month, and for each AI reply: when, which kind, and its size in tokens. Not the story text. Used to count your messages and to keep the game's costs in check.
- Payments: your plan, its status and renewal date, and Stripe's ID for you. We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles that.
- Bug reports and reported AI text: what you write, the screen and place you were on, your hero's name, the last few lines of your story, your browser type, and your account ID. See section 5.
- Support messages: what you write to support and our answers, kept inside Lone Table (not in anyone's personal email), with your account, or the email address you gave if you weren't signed in. You can read yours under Menu > Support. See section 5.
3. Your saves are private
We don't read your saved games. The only time we look at one is if you send a bug report and ask us to.
4. Who else handles your information
- Cloudflare runs the website, stores the data above, and runs the AI that writes the story. What you type is sent to the AI to write the next part of the story. Cloudflare states that it doesn't keep what's sent to the AI after the reply is written, and doesn't use it to train AI models.
- Stripe handles payments: your card, receipts, and your email address for those receipts.
- Google, only if you choose “Sign in with Google”. We get your Google account ID and email address, nothing else.
- We'd only hand information to anyone else if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
- Your account and heroes: until you delete them. You can delete one hero in My characters, or your whole account from the menu.
- Accounts nobody uses: after 2 years with no sign-in, we email you a link to download your data and give you 30 days' warning. Signing in during that time cancels it. After that, the account is deleted. Paying subscribers never count as inactive.
- When you delete your account: your saves, account and payment link are deleted right away. We keep a scrambled version of your email (or Google ID) for 1 year, so a new account on the same address doesn't get a second welcome bonus. Usage numbers stay, with nothing linking them to you.
- Bug reports and reported AI text are kept permanently, even after you delete your account. They're our record of what went wrong, why it was fixed, and proof that a fix held and the problem hasn't come back in another form. They hold your account ID, not your email, so after your account is deleted they no longer point to you.
- Support messages: kept with your account until you delete it, then deleted with it. If you weren't signed in, they're deleted 1 year after the last message.
- Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. You stay signed in for 30 days on a device unless you sign out.
6. Cookies and browser storage
- Two cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one that remembers your age answer for a year (only whether you passed and when, not your birth date) so you aren't asked again on that browser. Nothing else.
- Your browser also stores the hero you're playing, and a random ID for each open tab (so the game knows if you open the same hero twice). These stay on your device.
7. Your choices
- Download my data (menu): everything we keep about your account and heroes, in one file.
- Delete a hero (My characters) or Delete my account (menu). You can also ask us by email.
- Questions, or want something corrected: use Contact support or email support@lonetable.wyerd.org.
8. Children
Accounts are for people 13 or older, and everyone is asked their birth month and year before signing in. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it. A parent may let a younger child play on the parent's own account (see the terms of service).
9. Changes to this policy
If we change what we keep or who handles it, we'll update this page and tell you by email or in the game at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
10. Contact
Use Contact support, or email support@lonetable.wyerd.org. Lone Table is run by one person: expect a reply within 3 business days.
